Will Putin attack the U.S., U.K. or other countries in Europe and the West?
Putin will not attack the U.S. or the U.K. Putin’s Russia is not the formidable force it seems to be — that is a Kremlin inspired illusion. The need to preserve his regime and power outweighs any potential benefits of launching nuclear weapons.
The image of Putin as a great Russian KGB agent is manufactured. Putin is not even able to defeat Ukraine. Putin is not a fearless soldier. Nor is he intelligent. Putin is not a great strategist or he would not have attacked Ukraine or targeted infrastructure and civilians.
Putin wants a world in which other countries side with Russia, but his unethical war crimes has caused neighboring countries to look to the U.S. for protection from Russia.
MAGA Republicans and the Christian right in America mistakenly believe that Putin embraces family, patriarchal values. He does not. Putin is not a great leader who will protect family values. Your sons and daughters will be murdered in cold blood if Putin has his way.
Putin is an angry conspiracy theorist who is nonlogical. Putin thinks he can rely on former U.S. President Donald J. Trump becoming president again in 2025. He thinks he is smarter than Americans and can manipulate them. That is not happening. The reverse is true. But an unhinged illogical conspiracy theorist and bully is not someone that should have nuclear weapons. We need to be very careful and precise in the way we deal with Putin. We must act in all ways possible to defang the terrorist alliance.
Russia represents fundamentalism and autocracy in the world today. Both are loosing and recent events are dying pains and a dangerous last attempt to gain back world power and respect following the typical ways of old world energy.

Putin will attack the U.S., U.K. and other countries in Europe and the West if he wins his war against Ukraine. If Putin continues to fail in Ukraine he may try another strategy.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has repeatedly warned Western countries that the war will not stop with Ukraine. “I have already said multiple times: Russia’s invasion of Ukraine was intended only as a beginning.”
Zelensky continually stresses the need to secure Ukraine’s airspace. He wants the US and NATO to help to do that. Doing so will help in the event that things go terribly wrong. It is unlikely that Putin’s Russia will attack the U.K., but if he did it would help if there were established means secure airspace in all Western countries.
“Everyone thinks that we are far away from America or Canada. No, we are in this zone of freedom.” said Zelensky. “And when the limits of rights and freedoms are being violated and stepped on, then you have to protect us. Because we will come first. You will come second. Because the more this beast will eat, he wants more, more, and more.” Read more.
Vladimir Putin wants to restore his nation to its former Soviet glory first by taking Ukraine because of its strategic location. Putin will then likely attack the small Baltic nations of Moldova, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania, and after that perhaps Poland.
Putin’s invasion of Ukraine is strategically like Adolf Hitler’s invasion of Poland in 1939.
Putin does not want the other former Soviet states Azerbaijan or Kazakhstan, because they have nothing he wants. Putin is most likely to try to reclaim Eastern bloc allies such as the Czech Republic, Hungary or Poland.
Ukraine has resources such as major ports and serves as the breadbasket for western Russia’s major cities, including Moscow and St. Petersburg.
Putin has tried to undermine democracies in the West, especially the United States. He has sowed divisions in the U.S. and encouraged the election of former U.S. President Donald Trump.
Russia is in opposition to the spread of democracy into Russia, because that would make Putin’s ambitions impossible. Putin has many ways of attacking the U.S., the U.K. and other nations in Europe and the West. Doing so, he believes, will increase the likelihood of Putin ruling the world.
What is the risk that Putin’s Russia will attack Other Countries?
The risk that Putin’s Russia will attack other countries is low now, but there is a risk. What he will do depends on where he discovers opportunity. Putin is very unpredictable and likely to try novel means to strike blows at any country aiding Ukraine in any way he can. He will likely use drones to attack electrical grids, communication hubs, energy supply lines and even hospitals and food supply locations. Putin will attack other countries, and if he makes progress in any area he will continue along those lines that prove effective.
Putin is trying to divert food supplies from Western countries to his allies. Putin would spread diseases to create a pandemic in the West if he knew how to do that.
The UN must expel Russia from the UN pursuant to Article 6 of the Charter for ‘persistent violation’ of the principles of the Charter. The UN Security Council has the power to take punitive action against Russia. The 15 members can legally impose sanctions on Russia, approve military intervention, as well as impose embargoes and asset freezes to persuade Russia to change course. The only problem is that Russia is a member of the UN Security Council, and any member can veto a decision made by these 15 members. To expel Russia from the UN will automatically eliminate Russia’s veto power in the Security Council.
Otherwise international courts must change laws or create a new world court that does have the power to stop Putin’s war crimes and prevent him from putting human civilization itself in peril.
