Jack Smith has subpoenaed Former Vice President Mike Pence. During the attack of the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, Trump supporters shouted “Hang Mike Pence!” Last year, Pence said “President Trump is wrong” and that “I had no right to overturn the election.” For these and other reasons Pence may be inclined to cooperate. Because this is a Department of Justice subpoena, it is my opinion that he will have to testify before a grand jury regardless of whether he cooperates or not.

Jack Smith is a very tough career prosecutor who has prosecuted cases at the Hague in the Netherlands. This is the International Criminal Court. He has prosecuted international war criminals. Trump is nothing to him.
Trump has recently been sending messages on his Truth Social that he has been unfairly given a tough prosecutor. Trump knows that he is about to be indicted on multiple charges. He will go to trial and he will lose.
It is not possible to escape justice in the United States. Because he was president he has for a long time, but that is coming to an end. Across the nation and even the globe I see that people know with ironclad certainty that the former U.S. President Donald J. Trump plotted the insurrection and attempted to subvert an election to remain in power. This was a selfish attempt to overthrow the United States from the inside. It is contrary to the nation’s most important principles of law and democracy that have been put in place to protect the nation and people from attacks from people like Donald Trump.
Garland is an individual who deals with facts and justice and I know that he is planning on indicting and arresting Donald J. Trump. As certain as I believe Trump’s indictment, arrest and trial is, there is always the possibility I could be wrong.
If the DOJ does not charge Trump with a crime, the country could become at the mercy of an autocratic government. But Garland knows that and this is why you can be absolutely assured that he will indict and arrest Trump. There will be a trial and a historic test of our institution of democracy unlike anything we have ever seen in all of history.
Trump will make his trial and conviction a spectacle like you have never seen before, but I am not confident that the violence he evokes against Americans and America will be effective. As I have mentioned, millions know with certainty that Trump is 100% guilty.
The dereliction of duty involved in allowing Trump to avoid being held accountable and going to trial would be the worst thing that Garland could do, and he knows it. To allow that to happen would bring on an unsurpassable rage directed at U.S. Attorney General Merrick B. Garland and the United States Department of Justice.
America itself would fall. Such a collapse would create a domino effect to the detriment of the entire world. Who knows what would happen next? But it would not be good, and it would not look pretty. Only Vladimir Putin and the world’s autocrats would be celebrating.

Will Merrick Garland convict Trump in a trial?
United States Attorney General Merrick Garland will convict Trump in a trial. The United States Justice Department must convict former U.S. President Donald J. Trump regardless of a potential public outcry claiming it is all because of politics rather than justice. The DOJ cannot be influenced by what the radical right may think in response to what he does because the DOJ is forbidden from making decisions for political reasons and because that is the last thing that Garland wants to do.
For these and other reasons, we know that Merrick Garland will convict Trump in trial.
He cannot afford to lose that trial.
Will Trump go to trial and lose?
Trump will go to trial and lose. How could he not lose? Anyone who has seen the January 6th hearings knows that no sane jury will let Trump off.
During the trial that will happen, former President Donald J. Trump’s lawyers will attempt to claim that Trump did not know that he lost the election. That will not work. It will be seen as an insult to the intelligence of the jurors. The idea that “he didn’t know he lost the election” as a defense is nonsensical and jurors will not buy it. In a trial Trump will lose because of the mountain of damming evidence supplied by the January 6th Committee.
There is also a huge quantity of evidence of numerous other crimes by former President Donald J. Trump. His rip-offs are everywhere, from his fake Trump University to deals with Saudis, he has a long list of “you are guilty Mr. Trump,” decisions and pending cases from courts.
It is time for the Department of Justice to take former U.S. President Donald J. Trump to trial, and when it does, Trump will lose. There is no possibility that Trump will not lose unless like in a mob-trial, the jurors are assassinated. Trump’s conduct and inaction before and during the attack on the United States Capitol and democracy itself illustrates how blaringly obvious his intent was and is. It has been made public and abundantly clear to all Americans willing to look at the evidence. The evidence can never go away. Having been presented on television worldwide, it is as if it is forever etched in stone for the whole world to observe.
Trump will go to trial, and he will lose the trial. Not only is the case a slam-dunk, but Trump also has an almost perfect record of losing cases in court. A trial will be the biggest thing in entertainment the world has ever seen. It will be a pathetic loss for Trump, that is a certainty.
This does not mean there will be no attacks of violence from the cults and radical right groups that adore Trump because of his vocal contempt for the groups they also disdain.
Long-term solution
All the issues are connected. We cannot solve the climate crisis, for example, if we cannot pass climate legislation due to republican obstruction. We need a solution strong enough to save democracy and solve the world’s problems.
Why the Department of Justice will bring Trump to trial and why he will lose
The Department of Justice will bring Trump to trial, and he will lose because this is not reality TV. This is a far different venue.
The Justice Department is not supposed to care if segments of the public perceive an indictment and arrest as being partisan and political. It cannot sway the DOJ from moving forward with a trial. And the DOJ is no match of Trump lawyers. Trump will lose.
The purpose of the Department of Justice is to protect American institutions. The January 6th hearings have given the public enough factual evidence to show that a criminal indictment of Trump is justified and therefore not political. It is time for Trump to go to trial and that is why I believe it is about to happen
U.S. Attorney General Merrick B. Garland and the Department of Justice will almost certainly indict Trump for seditious conspiracy (18 U.S. Code § 2384 – Seditious conspiracy) and for aiding and comforting a violent insurrection (18 U.S. Code § 2383 – Rebellion or insurrection).
No one was prepared for an actual sitting president to try to overthrow the United States of America because it is such and egregious crime. There can be no excuse for DOJ not to act now. If we were in a war, we wouldn’t wait two years before taking action, we would address the threat and respond immediately or we would be in grave peril and could be killed.
Besides, the waiting has been done, and thus action is due.
Having made a case on public television, the January 6th Select Committee investigating the U.S. Capitol attack and attempted coup has lessened the degree of public hostility that would otherwise have been directed at Merrick Garland from Trump supporters.
The cause of problems in the U.S. is the same cause of the Putin terror war. The reason why democracies are failing is because we may have missed the science that holds that answer to prevent the actual collapse of civilization itself: Plan to save democracy.
What is the underlying problem driving these issues?
If Trump loses a criminal trial, we will have temporarily saved democracy, but it will not be a long-term solution. The long-term solution will only come from an awareness of common-sense science.
We know that Republicans are willing to pass anti-democratic legislation because they are presently doing so. When democratic laws and protections are dismantled in this way, the country can become an autocratic government overnight.
The Supreme Court has made a shift in that direction. Putin’s war is another example of the same shift in paradigms, but on a global level.

Although Trump’s indictment and arrest has not yet occurred, there is a lot happening. I expect to see some major revelations from the January 6th Select Committee on Wednesday, September 28th. There will be indictments and arrests from the Department of Justice this month or immediately after the midterm election on November 8th.

The Department of Justice has issued 40 new subpoenas, and dozens of phones have been seized from top Trump aids. These are higher-ups close to Trump.
There is speculation of Trump being indicted and arrested because of a rare trip to Washington D.C. on Sunday that he did not mention on his social media platform perhaps because he didn’t want anyone to know what he was up to. If Trump is indicted or arrested we will report it here first.

Trump may have had documents revealing the location of nuclear missile launch sites. His plan: To threaten to reveal these locations to Russia or Iran if he were to be arrested.
The case against Trump is strong. He has admitted to taking classified nuclear documents. He will likely go to trial and lose because he unlawfully possessed three levels of classified documents.
And we haven’t even gotten to January 6th yet. He will also eventually go to trial and lose for that and for charges in any one of many cases against him. Eventually he will lose in all trials.

Republicans claim that retrieving sensitive government documents from Trump’s palace — basically just following our system of democratic laws — is not what it is, but is instead a witch hunt. In their next breath they make a threat that they will launch their own political investigation of the independent Department of Justice if they take control of the Senate in September — which by all definition is a witch hunt.
They are the witch hunters, and like in the inquisition, everyone with different views is a witch.
We all knew that former President Donald J. Trump is insane, and now it appears to be playing out in the courts. Trump’s legal team isn’t doing so well, to say the least. If they continue to fail, Trump will go to jail or prison for espionage and he will to jail or prison for the January 6th Capitol Attack.

The Department of Justice will likely charge Trump with 18 U.S. Code § 1510 – Obstruction of criminal investigations.
Photos were presented to the American public of top secret documents scattered on the floor in Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence. The DOJ has a very strong legal and factual case of obstruction. The DOJ says that documents were concealed and removed from the storage room in a deliberate intent to impede their investigation. These materials are not the property of former President Donald J. Trump and they were not declassified. Look for more news on this tomorrow. Because U.S. Attorney General Merrick B. Garland has previously stated that no one is above the law, it is almost certain that Trump will be charged. And as I have said before, Trump will go to trial and lose.

The Department of Justice has released the redacted affidavit for the search of Mar-a-Lago. Trump may go to trial and lose for espionage charges related to the seizure of these documents. However, it is more likely that he will go to trial for his [alleged] criminal role in the January 6th attempted coup.
American and world belief systems are driving these problems
All of these developments in government are a result of citizen’s beliefs. American belief systems are splintering for a reason. Each paradigm is represented in government because we elect representatives. However, the beliefs are as unreasonable as some of those who have been elected to represent those radical beliefs.
Because it is the beliefs of segments of the population that are represented through democratic voting process, the survival of American and world democracy is a matter of beliefs.
